If you are looking for a good source on what anyone needs to know for making an oral presentation, Communicating Research Results: Tips for Preparing and Making Presentations is what you want.
I think that the time on pages (ten minutes for a four page paper) is a little high, but then again, I talk very fast. It is probably a reasonable rule of thumb.
Plus it is very easy to read. It would make a good source to send students to if you do not have time to cover it in class.
I am going to use it in my Writing in the Behavioral Sciences course.
