Texas Medieval Association has a wonderful article entitled, “A Guide to the Conferentially Perplexed or How to Survive the Entire Conference Experience.” (To find it, click on Texas Medieval Association in the left side bar. Â It will be at the top of the page.)
It includes the following sections:
- Getting your paper accepted
- Writing your paper
- Presenting your paper
- Comments or Questions?
- Chairing a session
- What to expect at the conference
- After the conference
It is very well written, informative, and funny. There are a few edgy comments, about baby birds and lycanthropy, but they are what adds the humor.
I recommend reading it if you are wanting to do conferences but don’t know how.
