Today in my Early British Literature miniterm class I used handouts by:
William Klein
Thomas Klein
Megan Cavell
The students enjoyed reading the Exeter Riddle that is usually answered iceberg. They, however, as usual, disagree. They think it is a storm. That was also William Klein’s argument. The students are pleased to know that they “got” something that not all the experts did.
We are working on riddles 5, 9, 24, 26, 29, 31, 34, 48, and 63. We are working on them in translation, but they are very interesting. The students are stumped on some of them.
