Community College English says there is a place for cell phones in the classroom.
I am currently arguing for that at my college.
Here are some of my ideas:
Art classes could have a photo collection using cell phone cameras. English classes could have the narrative paper written around a photo essay, process papers could include directions with photo illustrations, and descriptive essays could be written about a single photograph. Vocabulary lists could be split among students with everyone looking up their word and then combining the definitions in a collaborative homework assignment. Dance students could do short videos on their cameras.
Has anyone integrated cell phone use appropriately and effectively in to their classrooms? I would be interested in hearing about it.
