It’s been a good week or so for students recognizing their learning.
Today I received an email from a great student who waited till this summer to take a required course, because I was on the schedule to teach it. She was looking forward to having me again. I had to write and tell her I won’t be teaching this summer. But I love that she wanted to have me.
Another student said in class last week, “I get it. I understand what you are trying to teach us about that writing is a process. I can write now and I know how to get a paper written.” Several other students chimed in with agreements. (This is in a developmental class where about half the class has dropped out because I am hard and so are their lives.)
