How Productive Do Professors Have to Be? was an intriguing title.
Reading the article was both interesting and informative, though I do not think it will touch my life particularly, based on my own life choices.
It was not, however, on the topic I expected.
I thought it would be, and perhaps this was a reasonable and expected assumption based on the title, about the research angle for profs and how to balance that with their teaching. In fact, however, I would say it is perhaps the opposite. It’s not a problem one sees in small liberal arts or community colleges, but it is still relevant to the academy as a whole.
