This site has about 50 words which are said differently in different parts of the country. It includes color coded maps for the pronunciations.
One of the words I think people say differently is “accent.” That one is not, however, in the Dialect Survey results.
Example:
caramel
prounciation could have two syllables or three
For me, I say both. I say car-ml when it is apples. They are “car-ml” apples. It’s carra-mel when it is the candy. So… it’s car-ml when it is a coating or a topping. It is carra-mel when you eat it alone.
