Mind the selfish reader.
The reader wants to learn about him/herself, not the author.
Adding significance for the selfish reader (for revisions)
Apply So What? test
provide an insight
show a different angle
make a point
Talked about a writer who did a memoir and then applied the so what test and found that the book wasn’t well done. Had to rewrite/revise hundreds of pages.
