Language and Linguistics

A good website that introduces language and linguistics is presented by the National Science Foundation and our government.

It begins with basic concepts, has special reports that include Exploring the Interface, and offer Classroom Resources on a variety of subjects.

The most interesting parts for my class in linguistics are the language change, endangered language, and dialects‘ special reports. These include related links that can be useful as well.

Reading for Linguistics

I follow the 99percent.com blog. Recently one came up that sounded interesting, so I kept it open to read. Turns out it will be relevant to my linguistics class.

It’s The Noun Project.

If you haven’t read the article yet, do you know what this is?

I recognized it immediately. It is iconic, if you are South American or have been around Argentinians.
