I can’t talk to a student’s parent, because my students are over 18. That’s because of FERPA. I thought everyone had to follow FERPA.
I was reading an article in the St. Petersburg Times when I got quite a jolt.
The journalist apparently interviewed a student. Then they interviewed the teacher. Perhaps they interviewed them together?
This is the shocking quote:
English professor Carmen Simpson said that O’Neal did not know the difference between an adjective and a noun at the beginning. When the class ended last month, O’Neal wrote an acceptable essay and passed the class.
I would be very unhappy if my teacher announced my deficiencies to the newspaper.
